I love happy customers!!!

Posted on: August 3rd, 2012 by Kate Elford No Comments

I had a really lovely email and photo today, from a happy customer, it means so much to me when people love their cake toppers….

‘I cant tell you how amazed and surprised Rupert was by the topper – he loves it to pieces and it is now pride of place on our dresser!! All of our guests were delighted by it and said how well you captured us all – we cannot recommend you enough! Not just for the skill and gorgeousness of the topper itself but in your professionalism and efficientness throughout the process, i think you were the easiest thing to organise for the whole wedding, and the topper was the very thing we were most pleased with.

You are an absolute star and i am raving about you to all my friends and clients! Thank you so much for an everlasting perfect memento of our day and our lives at the time, we will cherish it forever.’

Here it is on the wedding cake, it looks lovely, the whole setting looks so beautiful : )

Olympics 2012

Posted on: August 1st, 2012 by Kate Elford No Comments

The Olympics has begun! London 2012. Seeing all the flags of the world at the opening ceremony made me think about all the flags I have made over the years on the wedding cake toppers. Some are flags from the UK, and then at the other end of the scale the Union Jack and the flag of Australia. Because of the small scale they are always tricky to paint, but a lovely touch to represent something personal about you.

Another topper I have made recently was this one which represented the bride and grooms love of traveling all over the world , it was a topper globe with bride and groom, and even a copy of their own luggage. It is a completely ceramic topper so will last forever. I didn’t think I’d ever be making the whole world! I needed a globe to copy getting countries in the right place wasn’t as easy as I had expected, but loved the end result.

This topper was another way to represent the couples nationality, two Welsh dragons, for a civil partnership, it was great fun to make and a really unique design with the blackboard and football scarf. The red was really striking and was great to see the transformation from clay to dragons.

Even though I can’t ship the toppers overseas anymore, they have and are still traveling further than I ever will. Lots of brides have packed them in suitcases and have taken them all over the world, it’s a strange but good feeling to know that the little people that start out in the workshop are important enough to travel all that way for such a special day as a wedding.

Winter Weddings

Beautiful icy white wedding theme

Well it’s only the start of April and I’m already thinking about winter! I’m very lucky to be booked up until September already, and it got me thinking about the discussions I’ll be having with brides soon about autumnal colours and snowy bases, maybe with a robin or two! This topper traveled to Canada with the bride and groom for a very snowy wedding, the figures even wore skis.

The good thing is with a winter wedding theme you don’t need to be limited on colours, any colour can be adapted to the theme. It can be a traditional Christmas theme with rich burgundy, green and gold or a warm winter palate of cinnamons and ivory, even with mini trees on the tables and fairy lights twinkling around you. Or a very different look is a magical winter wonderland, glitter, pale or icy blues, white, silver and lots of sparkling lights can give it a lovely shimmering winter effect.

Traditional theme Christmas wedding

There is a long list of winter accessories that can be added to your topper – skis, snowboards, hat’s and gloves, snowy base, snowballs, robins, snowmen whatever matches your theme.

The idea of a winter wedding may sound cold but I love the idea of guests chatting around a big open fire maybe even with a mug of hot chocolate, it makes it a really snug, cozy, friendly environment.

Beach wedding

There is always the option to forget all of that and go to a hot and tropical beach! No snow or rain there!

What ever your winter theme I think it is a lovely magical time of year to get married.

Personalised Wedding Favours

Personalised Wedding Favours

Here is a new idea for personalised wedding favours, or as a gift for the bride and groom. A ceramic heart with a little painting of the bride and groom is a lovely personal touch for a memento that will last forever.

Each one is hand painted and can have the bride and grooms names and wedding date added. They are a lovely keepsake for the guests to take home.

This one pictured is of a bride, groom in his RAF uniform and their lovely pet dog. They were happy with the results ‘I just wanted to let you know we have received the hearts today. They look great!’

They could be ordered in any shape, size or design, just contact us for a quote. Pictures below are some of the different size options available in the hearts. With or without sparkle, large, small, date, names, black or silver text the options could be endless.

Ceramic Wedding Hearts

Why not order a personalized heart for each guest a mini picture of each guest with their name on could be painted,it’s a very special way to have a place card that can be kept forever. Maybe a little flower could be added or hearts, whatever your theme it could be made to tie in with it.

Favours are a lovely way to dress the table and are an even more thoughtful gift if they can be taken by the guests to remind them of your wedding day.

Because they are ceramic they are top quality and will last forever.

Personalised wedding favours

Here is a recent order of a Christmas themed wedding, with personalised pottery hearts and stars painted with a Christmas picture. Any picture could be added to match your taste or wedding theme.

Mini Toppers

Posted on: November 14th, 2011 by Kate Elford 2 Comments

As well as the Atop of the tier cake toppers, I also make mini toppers, which can be found over at www.cake-toppers.co.uk a smaller more simple version of these, but made in a similar style.

“We provide personalised cake toppers for Weddings, Civil Partnerships, Christenings, Birthdays or any other occasion. Our cake toppers are hand crafted from kiln fired earthenware clay, and are personalised to match your clothes, hair, skin colour and other features unique to you.

These cake toppers are designed to feature adult people, but for a small additional charge can also include additions such as lustre hearts, babies and children. Your cake topper can also be engraved with names and / or dates.”

The topper pictured was made for a Christening. The couple had already had an Atop of the tier topper made for their wedding a few years ago, and wanted to add to the collection of special occasion toppers.  A lovely way to remember a special day.

For more information about the toppers pop over to www.cake-toppers.co.uk for lots of photos of toppers, and toppers on cakes.
