to all the newly engaged couples over Christmas and the new year from us at wedding cake toppers. Exciting times are ahead for you. Some of you may be planing a 2018 wedding, or some of you might be thinking more long term. Whenever you are thinking it is always sensible to decide if there are bespoke things that you are hoping to have and book ahead. Autumn cake topper

Autumn weddings. It’s been a lovely mix of cake toppers this autumn. (Obviously I can’t give anything away yet until the weddings are over!) But I am looking forward to sharing the latest autumnal cake toppers.

I love adding the little leaves and conkers to make the cake toppers really seasonal. Autumn is becoming a really popular season for weddings, and is almost as busy as summer. The weather can still be lovely, and the natural sunlight can make a beautiful backdrop. Autumn also provides some wonderful natural colour schemes, natures pallet is very rich at this time of year. I think it also provides a great mix for your day, a bright autumnal day and then a lovely cosy evening with your guests. Perfect for a snug night with an open fire, and that is always a great excuse for toasting marshmallows.

This is one of my most autumn themed toppers yet, and I loved making this one. The topper was so much fun to make. I must admit, there were lots of hours went into making and painting each leaf. That’s the lovely thing with the personalised cake toppers, because they are handmade to match, anything can be customised to match you.  Reds and oranges have been really popular colours all year. Orange has been especially popular this wedding season. A lovely bright rich colour, which contrasts beautifully against a wedding dress. Red and orange is a lovely warm wedding colour, that is great to match accessories with. It is always interesting to see the patterns of wedding colour schemes matching the seasons, something I think I would do myself.

Maybe I am bias as I love autumn, but I do think it is a fantastic time of year for a wedding, and an autumn themed cake topper to match!

Wedding cake ideas

I was sent these lovely photos this week, of a wedding topper on the cake, and had to share them, such amazing wedding cake ideas. I think this should have been called a yummy wedding cake post!
The top tier is a traditional white iced cake with a cake topper, and the base is a fantastic stack of doughnuts. I absolutely love the idea and I’m guessing it was a big talking point on their wedding day.

I love an unusual cake, which this one definitely was. Such a great fun idea. The topper matched the bride and groom. The brides dress was made to match, and also the groom in his uniform. The bride and groom included their cat on the topper, who had lovely unusual markings on his face which I also matched for them.

These personalised cake toppers can be wearing whatever clothing you choose, they don’t have to be a traditional bride and groom. This cake topper is a perfect example of that, a footballer groom and a bride in a suit with a lovely matching hat.

Cake toppers made to match the changing seasons are a popular choice, whether it’s spring, summer, autumn or winter there are many options for each season. At the moment I have been working on Autumnal cake toppers. It’s a fantastic time of year, the air feels fresher the colours outside are red and golden and home feels a little bit more cozy!

I love the idea of a winter wedding, it conjures up images of crisp white snow, roaring log fires and a lovely magical white sparkle over everything!

I’ve been sent these lovely photos of Nelly and Nora, the Jack Russell wedding guests!

I created mini replicas of them in clay as they were ordered for the wedding cake, here is a photo of them with the cake, including some little sheep! (sheep aren’t by me) I love the silver wedding cake with the tree ring cake base, it looks a really natural wedding theme.
